2nd May 2008
With the price of Oil reaching record highs on the global markets and with petrol/diesel at the pumps at unheard of prices, the price of LPG (propane/butane) has followed this trend.
The Refineries have not been slow in raising their prices, mainly on a daily basis since the middle of last month to these record highs.
We, as a Responsible supplier, have made every effort to absorb these increases, reducing costs, changing work patterns and have been successful in holding our surcharges firm for more than Four months until now. We cannot sustain this continuous level of producer led price increases any longer and continue pricing at our low levels.
Regretfully we shall increase our current surcharge by £0.05p per kilo (equivalent to 2 ½ p per litre) from Thursday 8th May 2008.
We shall, as always continue with our best endeavours to refrain from future price escalations and reiterate that we are only passing producer price increases onto the market.
