CO₂ as a shielding gas for welding

CO₂ is used as a shielding gas for arc welding. Dry Ice (Solid Carbon Dioxide) is used to remove particles and organic residues from metals, polymers, ceramics and glasses. Calibrated mixtures of CO₂ and Nitrogen are used for the calibration of measuring equipment's used for engine test emissions. CO₂ is also used in lasers for laser cutting.
Beverages

CO₂ is used to carbonate beverages such as soft drinks, mineral water or beer and for wine maturation. Dry Ice is used at different stages of production and distribution of beverages. Supercritical Carbon Dioxide is used to extract caffeine from coffee beans.
Food

CO₂ is used for chilling, freezing, modified atmosphere packaging and temperature control for products being stored and transported. Carbon Dioxide increases the life of many food products thanks to it fungistatic and bacteriostatic properties. CO₂ is also used in greenhouses to boost plant growth.
Cleaning

CO₂ is used for cleaning when formed into snow or pellet form from a liquid source (also known as dry ice blasting)
